Pastor Joel Blount and his queen of 30 years, Stacey Rivers-Blount, are the proud parents of 2 sons; Christopher, a graduate of Georgia State University, who produces and edits films in Florida, and Zachary, a sophomore at Johnson & Wales University.

On Saturday, October 30, at the Bishop’s Annual Planning Meeting, The Rt. Rev. John F. White Sr., Presiding Prelate of the 4th Episcopal district of the African Methodist Episcopal church appointed Rev. Joel T. Blount, Pastor of St. John AME Church, Indianapolis!

Upon relocating for work to the Atlanta area, he accepted his call to preaching at Cleveland Chapel in McDonough, GA under the leadership of Reverend Arthur R. Brown, and served the 6th District, as Pastor of the Sparta Circuit which included Mitchell & Hall Chapels.

In 2017, Rev. Blount relocated to the Indianapolis area with his family. He is in his 7th year of ministry and his first year as the Pastor of St. John A.M.E. Church.

Rev. Blount was born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York. He is a graduate of the State University of New York, College at Purchase where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is employed by Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics where he serves as the Sr. Manager of Global Logistics.
